Just Some of the Highlights of this Amazing Journey to Ireland
Your Trip Includes![]() Airfare from Boston Logan Airport included
Quinn Abbey
Quinn Abbey
One of the first sites we will go to is Quin Abbey in County Clare. The abbey was built between 1402 and 1433 by friars of the Franciscan order. The abbey was then confiscated by King Henry VIII of which he then gave it away. For more history on the abbey, click on the picture to go to an informational website about the abbey. Aran Islands- Where they still speak Gaelic
Aran Islands
You will be swept away by the Aran Islands. The Aran Islands, along Ireland's west coast, are a Gaelic treat. They consist of three limestone islands: Inishmore, Inishmaan, and Inisheer. The largest, Inishmore (nine miles by two miles), is by far the most populated, interesting, and visited. The other islands, Inishmaan and Inisheer, are smaller, much less populated, and less touristy. The landscape of all three islands is harsh: steep, rugged cliffs and windswept, rocky fields divided by stone walls. During the winter, severe gales sweep the islands; because of this, most of the settlements on Inishmore are found on its more peaceful eastern side. There's a stark beauty about these islands and the simple lives its inhabitants eke out of six inches of topsoil and a mean sea. Precious little of the land is productive. In the past, people have made a precarious living from fishing and farming. The scoured bedrock offered little in the way of soil for farming, so it was created by the islanders — the result of centuries of layering seaweed with sand. The fields are small, divided by several thousand miles of "drystone" wall (made without mortar). Most of these are built in the Aran "gap" style, in which angled upright stones are filled with smaller stones. This allows a farmer who wants to move stock to dismantle and rebuild the walls easily. The best way to tour the island is by horse and buggy and bicycle which are available for rental upon arrival. Dublin Ireland's Capital City
Dublin
Dublin is the capital and most populous city of Ireland. The English name for the city is derived from the Irish name Dubhlinn, meaning "black pool. In the last 20 years, the Republic of Ireland’s capital city has transformed itself from a quiet, economically depressed, old-fashioned town into a modern, thriving, affluent, and youthful (around 35 percent of the city’s million-plus people are under the age of 25) European city. Ancient pubs, lively nightclubs, hundreds of live music venues, and elegant restaurants share rain-soaked sod with hundreds of years of troubled, painful, and fascinating history carved into stone. The Liffey River divides the city into two distinct areas, both of which have seen an upswing in recent years. But as Joyce, Yeats, Swift, and their modern counterparts have eloquently demonstrated, every corner pub, emerald green, and Georgian square of Ireland’s largest city holds a story waiting to be shared. Connemara and the Ponies
Welcome to Connemara, a place of contrasts, colours, wilderness and warm welcomes on the west coast of Ireland. From the bogs and lakes of the Gaelic speaking South Connemara, to the mountain vistas of North and West Connemara, the diversity of the landscape and the people who populate it offers much to the visitor.
Heading west from Galway city, the villages of Connemara will stretch out before you like a colourful road map of communities and hidden gems just waiting to be explored. Each town or village has its own distinct character and local culture, including Oughterard, Maam, Recess,Roundstone, Cashel, Carna, Ballyconneely, Clifden, Cleggan, Claddaghduff, Letterfrack, theRenvyle peninsula and Leenane. Don’t limit yourself though—some of the most beautiful places you will see or enjoy may be off the beaten track and should be explored on foot, by bicycle or on a boat! Dotted around the rugged coastline are the islands of Connemara, some inhabited and others long since deserted, but all remote and beautiful in the wild and windswept Atlantic. Much of Connemara’s wild beauty is due to its remote location and sometimes harsh conditions, but a regular influx of visitors in the last two centuries has produced a region that is proud of its natural beauty, yet still remaining largely unspoiled. However, as dramatic and breathtaking as the landscape may be, all travelers know that memories and encounters are what make a journey unique. A pint of Guinness on a misty evening by a fireside is as much a part of the true Connemara experience as scaling a hill or mountain to see the spectacular views. |

Reiki Stories of Healing
Reiki Heals Infection
A friend of mine went into the hospital for some reconstructive surgery due to breast cancer. After a couple of weeks, I saw her husband and inquired about her health. He was devastated and told me that she had developed a severe infection and had been running a fever of 104 degrees for several days and the doctors did not know where it was coming from. He said they believed her organs could begin to shutdown. I asked permission to visit her the next day, which he later called to tell me she accepted, and I began to send Reiki to her immediately. Upon my arrival the next morning, she looked wonderful! I asked her how she was and she said it was amazing. She woke up that morning and her temperature was completely normal. She felt great! The doctors had no explanation for her healing. She then asked me to explain Reiki to her and before I had finished, she took my hands and placed them on the site of her infection, closed her eyes and said, "Just do it." My friend is now home recuperating with her family. I thank God everyday for her health and this beautiful gift of Reiki. —Kathleen There are many stories just like this one where Reiki was a powerful tool to aid in healing. Reiki can be administered to others, or self or sent distances. Anyone can become certified in Reiki, no perquisites required.
